(LEBANON, Ill.- Oct. 7)—The McKendree College women's soccer team posted a 2-1 win over NCAA D-III opponent Maryville University.
McKendree controlled the game from the start, out-shooting the Saints 31-7 in the game. After playing a scoreless first-half the Bearcats finally got on the board early in the second-half to take a 1-0 lead.

The Bearcats extended their lead when Shellenberg netted her second goal of the game at the 65-minute mark off a pass into the box from 40-yards out by
Brittany Fuzessery (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City).
Maryville added a late goal from Amy Klein to cut the lead to 2-1 however the Bearcats held off the Saints for the 2-1 win.

Natalie Jameson (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad) made one save while recording the win as the Bearcats improve to 9-2-1 on the season. McKendree will be in action again tomorrow at home as the resume play in the American Midwest Conference with a game against Hannibal-LaGrange College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
